Surrey Hills Dive Day Success for Brentwood Selo

Waves Shape

Recently a group of 17 divers from Brentwood Selo travelled to Surrey Hills, just an hour’s drive away, for a day of diving and training. The group included a mix of Ocean Divers, Sports Divers, Instructors, and Assistant Instructors, creating an excellent environment for both learning and development.

Fortunately, the weather remained favourable throughout the day, allowing a variety of planned dives to go ahead. Some dives were focused on course progression and skill development, while others provided valuable opportunities for general practice and experience building.

The varied topography of the site proved particularly beneficial, enabling divers to work on different techniques and training objectives. Instructors and Assistant Instructors were kept busy throughout the day, with many participants successfully completing and being signed off on key elements of their training. This progress is especially encouraging given that several Sports Divers will be participating in the club’s Red Sea trip in July 2027.

As with any busy diving event, there were a few minor mishaps along the way, including a dry suit that was not fully zipped and a weight belt that worked loose. Thankfully, none of these incidents were serious and each provided a valuable learning experience.

Overall, it was an excellent day of diving, supported by outstanding shore cover and plenty of crayfish sightings beneath the surface. A successful and enjoyable day for everyone involved.
